Here are some picture of the construction of phase 1 Thu, 29 May 2008 14:03 Skatepark Update The long awaited skate park is moving forward. Funding has been agreed by Hinckley & Bosworth Council and groundwork's will start in Early June. The Council has been in discussions with the Environmental Health team at Hinckley and Bosworth to overcome some issues but the Environmental Officer are now happy with our proposals. THE NEXT exciting phase in the history of the George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust was launched on Monday, March 3. The Trust in Nuneaton has decided to make an application to the Secretary of State for Health to become a Foundation Trust. This means that it would stay in the NHS and continue to share its values - providing free, high standard health care based on need. This come as a request from the Borough Council's Dog Warden. The Council will now be selecting a site for the dog bin and consulting with local residents. Tue, 08 Apr 2008 09:45 More Land is being Transferred The Parish Council now has the responsibility of the Cemetery Car Park after the lease was formally transferred from the Borough Council to the Parish Council. The remainder of the proposed land is being looked at carefully before being transferred over. The Borough Council will be extending this trial to a second trial collection commencing in April and this trial is to be carried out in Barewell. The money will be spent on furniture and computer equipment. The little darlings also pulled the gate off its hinges allowing vehicle access onto the park. Paint has been thrown around Kirkby Road Rec. Why?? Russet Close Public Open Space was transferred from Barratt Homes to the Parish Council. A grounds maintenance contract has also been agreed and will start in November. The area identified as the most appropriate would be an area of 16 square meters by the entrance into the tip. The underground cable would then go up towards the flood retention basin. Wed, 10 Oct 2007 14:23 Barwell Skate Board Afternoon 21st October 2007 ![]() Barwell Parish Council will be running a skateboard afternoon on Sunday 21st October 2007 at Barwell Park, Stapletone Lane, Barwell from 1pm to 5pm. Due to safety concerns the previous skateboard equipment had to be removed and the Parish Council are now looking into replacing the equipment. So that the local people who use the skate park can be involved in the consultation, the Council is hiring a portable skate park so that locals can be consulted on which equipment they prefer and to come up with a design of a new skate park with help from skate park designers. The event is being sponsored by Barratt East Midlands. Max Anderson, World No 3 Streetboard Champion will also be at the event to give demonstrations and tips The event is primarily open to all people who use and want to Barwell Skate Park Displaying results 1-15 of 18
